Conference on “reclaiming India’s Knowledge Legacy Through Manuscript Heritage”
from 11th - 13 th September at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi
Gyan Bharatam Mission is a National initiative to preserve, digitise, and disseminate India’s
vast manuscript heritage, integrating tradition with technology for future generations. The
Gyan Bharatam Conference is the first International platform that has invited stakeholders
from across the country to discuss, deliberate, and chart the way forward for preserving
and digitising India’s manuscript heritage.

The International Conference, brought together over 1100 participants, including scholars,
experts, institutions, and cultural practitioners from India and abroad, creating a
collaborative platform for discussion, deliberation, and charting the way forward in
preserving, digitising, and sharing India’s manuscript wealth with the world.
Sarvajanik Education Society and Sarvajanik University, Surat, earned global recognition
through the active participation of Dr. Meeta Vansadia, Director, Chunilal Gandhi
Vidyabhavan – the Research Centre of Sarvajanik University. Dr. Vansadia presented a
scholarly paper titled:
“Preservation, Conservation and Restoration of Manuscripts: A Case Study of Chunilal
Gandhi Vidyabhavan.”
On 12 th September, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the International
Conference on Gyan Bharatam. The Prime Minister launched the Gyan Bharatam Portal, a
dedicated digital platform to accelerate manuscript digitisation, preservation, and public
access.
In his address at the International Conference, PM Modi emphasised that the Gyan
Bharatam Mission is set to become a proclamation of India’s culture, literature, and
consciousness. He remarked that India’s knowledge tradition stands on four foundational
pillars — Preservation, Innovation, Addition, and Adaptation. He appealed to the country’s
youth to actively participate in the mission, stressing the importance of exploring the past
through technology.
Chunilal Gandhi Vidyabhavan’s manuscripts, have been recognised as authentic and rich
with ancient wisdom by National Mission for Manuscripts. Also, the manuscripts have been
digitised by the National Mission of Manuscripts, New Delhi.

By Participation in such a prestigious event, Sravajanik University is proud to be part of
this grand ‘Gyan Yagya’- Gyan Bharatam - the knowledge movement of Bharat.
